Matrixyl® is trademarked by Sederma SAS. It is technically described as an anti-wrinkle active ingredient for cosmetics containing the matrikine palmitoyl pentapeptide-4. It contains a peptide composed of 5 amino acids linked to a 16-carbon chain that improves the penetration of the molecule through the skin.
This anti-wrinkle complex helps reverse chronological aging as evidenced by the regulation of senescence markers and the reduction of cutaneous photo damage by restructuring the fragile network of the papillary dermis. Matrixyl® received the In-Cosmetics 25 years of Innovation Award in 2015.
